2026 KLOOK PICK

Arario Museum Tour

A Private Odyssey Through the Qualia of Korean Art

This is not a typical museum tour. It is a philosophical performance where you become the protagonist. Walking through the labyrinthine architecture of the 'Arario Museum in Space', we deconstruct the failed promises of Modernism and reconstruct your own definition of art.

Tour Introduction
[ KEY PHILOSOPHY ] 1. The Rule of Silence Policy: We strongly discourage photography during the tour. Instead of looking through a lens, look with your own eyes. We focus on "Qualia"—the pure experience of feeling the art. 2. Intro: The Death of Structure Theme: Why did Modernism fail? We discuss plurality and deconstruction (해체) while walking towards the museum. This philosophical background is the key to unlocking the artworks inside.

Tour Description
Chapter 1. KOREA : The Mirror of Desire (한국관) Artists: Nam June Paik (백남준), Osang Gwon (권오상), Dongwook Lee (이동욱) Story: We analyze the current cultural phenomena of Korea. From Nam June Paik's technology to the grotesque sculptures of Gwon and Lee, we question the modern consumption patterns and the obsession with the body in Korean society.
Chapter 2. WEST : The Scream of Society (서양관) Artists: Barbara Kruger, Cindy Sherman, Tracey Emin, Keith Haring Story: Art as a weapon. We explore how these artists expose personal trauma and social contradictions. It is a sharp critique of gender, capitalism, and identity that expands personal pain into a social agenda.
Chapter 3. ASIA : The Philosophy of Myths (아시아관) Artists: Leslie de Chavez, Geraldine Javier, Tatsuo Miyajima, Kohei Nawa Story: Beyond the West. We encounter stories of nation, religion, and philosophy. Through the lens of Asian artists, we ponder the fundamental problems of the world and the meaning of existence (Life & Death).
Coffee & Reflection at 'Fritz' After the intense intellectual journey, we move to the Hanok cafe next door. With a cup of coffee and a Museum Postcard, we encourage you to write down your own interpretation. "Art is not complete until you define it." The tour ends when you finish your writing.
